Wyatt Langford provided the decisive moment for the Texas Rangers with a ninth-inning single that scored Osuna, giving Texas a 7-6 lead they would not relinquish. The victory came after the Rangers had blown a five-run advantage earlier in the game, requiring a comeback to secure the win against the Los Angeles Angels.
Langford’s hit capped a dramatic seventh inning for Texas. The Rangers had trailed 1-6 entering the frame but managed to load the bases and rally. Schanuel singled to center, driving in Meckler and Neto to make it 4-6. Soler followed with a single to center, scoring Trout to bring the deficit to one run. Adell then singled to left, scoring Schanuel to tie the game at 6-6. Langford’s single completed the rally.
Angels’ Early Surge
The Angels jumped out to a significant lead early, taking advantage of Rangers pitching. In the first inning, Nimmo homered to left center, measuring 394 feet, to give Los Angeles a 1-0 lead. Burger then singled to left, allowing Jung to score and extend the advantage to 2-0.
Los Angeles maintained its lead through the third inning. Trout grounded out to shortstop, but Meckler scored to make it 2-1. Duran then homered to center, a 419-foot shot, with Nimmo scoring to push the lead to 4-1. Foscue added to the deficit in the fourth with a home run to center, 429 feet, making the score 5-1. In the sixth, Foscue hit a ground-rule double, allowing Cauley to score and bring the total to 6-1.
