Los Angeles maintained its lead through the third inning. Trout grounded out to shortstop, but Meckler scored to make it 2-1. Duran then homered to center, a 419-foot shot, with Nimmo scoring to push the lead to 4-1. Foscue added to the deficit in the fourth with a home run to center, 429 feet, making the score 5-1.
