Standout Performance

Mookie Betts provided the decisive offensive spark for the Los Angeles Dodgers, delivering two key hits that helped secure a 6-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The Dodgers’ win was highlighted by Betts’ ability to drive in runs at critical moments, including a solo home run and a game-winning single late in the contest.

Game Flow

Los Angeles struck first in the second inning when E. Hernández singled to center field, allowing Betts to score from first base. The Dodgers extended their lead in the fourth inning with back-to-back power surges. Betts homered to left field, measuring 375 feet, followed immediately by a two-run home run from E. Hernández, also to left field at 375 feet.

This sequence pushed the Dodgers’ advantage to 4-0.

Colorado responded in the same frame with two runs of their own. Amador doubled to left, bringing home Norby and Rumfield to make the score 4-2. The Rockies tied the game later in the seventh inning when Moniak hit a 399-foot home run to right field, scoring McCarthy and leveling the contest at 4-4.

The game remained deadlocked until the extra innings. In the top of the 10th, Freeman hit a sacrifice fly to left, allowing Pages to score and give the Dodgers a 5-4 lead. Betts then singled to center field in the same inning, scoring T. Hernández and extending the lead to 6-4, which proved to be the final margin.

Pitching Efforts

Roki Sasaki started for Los Angeles, pitching five innings while allowing seven hits and two earned runs with six strikeouts. He was supported by a bullpen that included Brock Stewart, who recorded a hitless inning with two strikeouts, and Jack Dreyer, who also pitched a scoreless frame with two strikeouts.

Kyle Hurt earned the win for the Dodgers, working one inning of relief without allowing an earned run. Tanner Scott closed out the game with his 18th save, pitching a perfect inning. Alex Vesia took the loss after allowing two earned runs in his outing.

For Colorado, Kyle Freeland started and gave up four earned runs over 3.2 innings. The Rockies’ relievers, including Mark Manfredi, Nick Frasso, Jaden Hill, Jordan Romano, and Brennan Bernardino, combined to limit further damage until Jimmy Herget allowed a run in his final appearance.

Final Notes

The game was played at Coors Field in Denver with an attendance of 33,179. The victory improved the Dodgers’ record to 77-51, while the Rockies fell to 50-77.
