Standout Performance
Mookie Betts provided the decisive offensive spark for the Los Angeles Dodgers, delivering two key hits that helped secure a 6-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The Dodgers’ win was highlighted by Betts’ ability to drive in runs at critical moments, including a solo home run and a game-winning single late in the contest.
Game Flow
Los Angeles struck first in the second inning when E. Hernández singled to center field, allowing Betts to score from first base. The Dodgers extended their lead in the fourth inning with back-to-back power surges. Betts homered to left field, measuring 375 feet, followed immediately by a two-run home run from E. Hernández, also to left field at 375 feet.
This sequence pushed the Dodgers’ advantage to 4-0.
Colorado responded in the same frame with two runs of their own. Amador doubled to left, bringing home Norby and Rumfield to make the score 4-2. The Rockies tied the game later in the seventh inning when Moniak hit a 399-foot home run to right field, scoring McCarthy and leveling the contest at 4-4.
The game remained deadlocked until the extra innings. In the top of the 10th, Freeman hit a sacrifice fly to left, allowing Pages to score and give the Dodgers a 5-4 lead. Betts then singled to center field in the same inning, scoring T. Hernández and extending the lead to 6-4, which proved to be the final margin.
