The Alameda County Fair continues to draw visitors to the Pleasanton fairgrounds with a mix of traditional attractions and special commemorations. The event highlights the 250th anniversary of the United States with a fireworks display scheduled for Saturday. To mark the occasion, fair officials buried a time capsule last week, which is set to be unearthed in 2076 for the nation’s 300th birthday.
Entertainment options include concerts and movie screenings. The Maine performs on Friday, followed by Ozomatli on Sunday. There is no concert scheduled for the Fourth of July, but Flo Rida and Elle King are set to perform on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Movies on the Lawn will feature "Up" on Friday, "Ready Jet Go! Space Camp" on Saturday, and "Tangled" on Sunday.
The fair also hosts Arena Cross Nationals at the race track in front of the grandstand on Friday and Sunday. Golf remains open on the course during the fair, allowing visitors to play while other events take place. World Cup watch parties are established at four locations around the grounds for adult viewers.
Family-friendly activities include the Kids Park, where children can ride attractions independently if they meet height requirements. The Collectibles & Keepsakes exhibition displays items such as Uno paraphernalia, cassette tapes, and an Elvis-themed rubber duck. The Made by Hand hall features textile, culinary, and youth project displays. A "Rising Together" 9/11 Memorial, including a steel beam from the World Trade Center, is also on site.
