The holiday falls on a Saturday during a three-day weekend, prompting a wide array of activities ranging from morning runs to evening fireworks displays.
In San Ramon, the 40th annual 5k and 10k races will take place at Central Park on Saturday, July 4, starting at 7 a.m. Following the races, attendees can hear patriotic music performed by the Olympia Fields Brass and funk and soul music by the Cheeseballs band. Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase.
Danville will host its 51st annual Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to noon. The procession begins at San Ramon Valley High School and travels to Town and Country Drive. The San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been named the 2026 Parade Grand Marshal.
Other local communities are offering distinct celebrations. Walnut Creek will hold a free community concert at Civic Park on Saturday, July 4, from 6 to 7 p.m., featuring marches and patriotic music. Pleasanton’s 24th annual volunteer concert and picnic will occur at Lions Wayside Park on Saturday, July 4, at 12 p.m. The Pleasanton Community Concert Band will perform, and volunteers will serve six hundred hot dog lunches. The Alameda County Fair at the Alameda County Fairgrounds will also celebrate on Saturday, July 4, at 12 p.m., with rides, entertainment, and a fireworks show to close the night.
