The Catholic Community of Pleasanton marked its 125th anniversary with a series of events held over the weekend. A central part of the celebration was a special mass held on Sunday morning at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ, of the Diocese of Oakland, presided over the service. Father Mark Wiesner was also present at the mass, which served as the primary religious observance for the milestone occasion.
Following the liturgical service, the community gathered for a 125th anniversary party. The event brought together parishioners to commemorate the church's history and continued presence in the area.
Photos from the day were captured by Chuck Deckert, documenting both the mass and the subsequent social gathering. The celebration highlighted the enduring nature of the parish, which has operated for a century and a quarter.
