Bodycam footage has been released showing the arrest of Jed York, the owner of the San Francisco 49ers, in East Palestine, Ohio, on August 23. The video depicts an officer removing York from an SUV and placing him in handcuffs.
Authorities allege that York utilized a prostitution website to set up a meeting with an individual who turned out to be an undercover officer, offering $140 for the encounter. Initially, he faced charges of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools.
As part of a plea agreement, the charge of engaging in prostitution was amended to disorderly conduct. York entered a no contest plea to both charges, resulting in a $1,150 fine and a one-day jail sentence. The NFL has indicated that it will review the case under its personal conduct policy.
Further details regarding the incident, including any potential disciplinary actions from the NFL, have not yet been clarified.
