Recent reports indicate that the league has begun concluding some investigations and issuing suspensions, including an eight-week suspension for James Pearce Jr. last Friday.
While it is possible that the Rams have been informed about the status of Jackson and Nacua, the NFL has not yet released any official decisions regarding their cases. ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggested that both players are under review, with the possibility that Nacua may not participate in Week 1 against the 49ers.
There is no specific deadline for the NFL to announce decisions regarding suspensions, which complicates the Rams' preparations. Past instances, such as Von Miller's four-game suspension announced on October 1, 2024, and Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension that began in November 2017, illustrate that the league can take time to finalize such decisions.
Alaric Jackson's situation may be resolved sooner due to his recent legal issues. Although felony domestic battery charges against him were not pursued, he was assigned to a pre-filing diversion program, which could still lead to NFL discipline under the Personal Conduct Policy. The completion of his legal process allows the league to make a more informed decision regarding potential suspension.
Conversely, Puka Nacua's case remains in an ongoing civil process, which may prompt the NFL to delay any decision until the legal proceedings conclude. Although Nacua could face suspension if allegations are proven, the NFL currently lacks sufficient grounds to act independently.
