The Stanford Cardinal football team is preparing for its Week 1 matchup against the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes, set to take place on September 4. This follows a successful start to the season with a 37-27 victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in Week 0.
However, Stanford is facing significant challenges as it will be missing four offensive starters for the upcoming game. Reports indicate that three of these players are offensive linemen: left tackle Niki Prongos, guard Simione Pale, and center Aidan Kilstrom. Additionally, wide receiver Nico Brown and edge rusher Gabe Kaminski, who contributed 1.5 sacks in the previous game, are also ruled out due to injuries.
The injuries affecting Prongos, Pale, and Kilstrom are currently undisclosed, although Pale did participate in the season opener but did not complete the game. The nature of Brown and Kaminski's injuries remains unclear as well. Further updates are expected to be released soon.
Quarterback Davis Warren will have the opportunity to showcase his skills against a highly ranked opponent, having recorded 310 passing yards and one touchdown in the previous game, with a completion rate of 64.7% on 22 of 34 attempts. The game against Miami is scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. EST on Friday night.
