McKinney is set to welcome LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, which will invest nearly $919 million to establish a new facility focused on AI power and infrastructure. This project is expected to create over 600 jobs throughout its duration, with the first phase alone involving a capital investment of $307 million and approximately 500 jobs.
The facility, covering more than 650,000 square feet, will serve as LITEON's North American headquarters for advanced manufacturing, specifically for power systems that are crucial for AI data centers. The state has supported this initiative with a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and an additional $100,000 through the Veteran Created Job Bonus.
LITEON, which has been a leader in electronics since its founding in 1975, has shifted its focus to AI-related technologies, with projections indicating that this sector will account for 40 percent of its revenue this year.
The McKinney site will play a vital role in the rapidly expanding North Texas data center market, allowing for local production of essential power systems rather than relying on overseas shipments. This investment marks one of the largest corporate commitments in McKinney's history, reinforcing the city's reputation for robust economic growth.
The investment is part of a broader wave of AI infrastructure manufacturing being built in the United States.
